This is what happens when you mix too much spare time and a home automater.
Ryan Hogland has created a website detailing how he created a model of the Manhatten skyline (he even designed the model with AutoCAD to make sure he got the perspective right)
He also has it under X10 control to bring the lights in the buildings on at night.
