    New CAT5 Distribution System

    Table of Contents

Here’s another new CAT5 AV distribution product range from Keane Electronics…

“A brilliant new product even if we do say so ourselves :-),the Keene C5KDA is a 4 way distribution amplifier with built in CAT5 conversion, It takes in s-video (or composite) and audio and electronically splits the signal into four identical outputs.

[googlead]It then converts each output signal so you can send it via CAT5 cable to the remote receiver where it’s converted back into video and audio. CAT5 cable is cheap, thin and flexible so with this device you send the signals up to 100m at high quality and low cost. There’s even IR feedback built in so you can control the source equipment from each remote location. Available now in kits with two or four remote receivers…

The Keene C5KDA is a great problem solver. It takes s-video (or composite) and audio and electronically splits the signal into four identical outputs. There is no signal loss so each output is as good as the input. It then converts each output signal such that it can be sent via CAT5 cable to the receiver, where it is converted back into video and audio. CAT5 cable is cheap, thin and flexible and can be used to send the signal up to 100m or more without problems.

The CAT5KDA provides Infra Red feedback from each remote receiver so you can still control the source equipment connected to the CAT5KDA input from the remote location.

The C5KDA has a switchable line drive feature that can be used to preserve signal quality on even longer cable runs (in excess of 50m). It works by applying a signal boost with emphasis on higher frequencies. The system uses wideband ICs with very low output impedance.

This product is ideal for – Sending a an AV signal to multiple displays – Sending an AV signal down a long cable run (in excess of 100m)

You can buy the C5KDA only (although, frankly, it won’t be very exciting without at least one receiver), or as a kit complete with two or four receivers.”
