Just received this – “Thought I would drop you a line to let you know that a new piece of software is available for download. The software suite called CUSTODIAN is a package developed to enable smart homes to be designed by novices to meet the needs of older people or people with disabilities. The software allows home layouts to be imported into the tool, and a number of stencils from which the user can choose to select the most appropriate devices to meet the needs of the person for whom the design is intended. There is a visualisation component that allows the user to see if the configuration of their design works and if there are any glitches that need to be resolved. Other features include a rough cost estimator and ability to programme the design to any system whether it is X10, EIB, EHS, LonWorks or whatever.”
