Here’s an interesting smart home leak detector from D-Link.
The DCH-S161 water sensor uses Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz 802.11n/g) so it can operate stand-alone without any hub required and its 2 x AA batteries last up to 1.5 years.
It can be wall mounted and comes with a 1.8m cable making it ideal for any leak prone area of your home, according to D-Link…
Under the kitchen sink, in the laundry room, water heater closet, the bathroom – wherever you’ve got a leak-prone area, the Wi-Fi Water Sensor fits right in for watertight peace of mind.
In the event of water being detected the module will send a push notification to your iOS or Android device as well as sounding its built-in 90 dB siren.
The sensor can connect with D-link’s own mydlink system and integration is available via IFTTT and the Google Assistant.
