Thomson Stop Making UK TiVo Box

Yesterday EuropeMedia.net reported that Thomson have decided to stop manufacturing TiVos for the UK market.

“TiVo’s UK manufacturing partner, Thomson, will cease production of the PVR devices shortly, having reconsidered its partnership.This decision has led to substantial price-cuts around the UK as stockists attempt to clear their supplies.

iTVt reports that following the decision, TiVo is now in discussion with new partners over the manufacture of its’ device. A new deal would essentially bring the same product to the market, but in a different box. The PVR has a normal retail price of £200.”
