Submission by James Traynor – Wireless LAN equipment which offers theoretical speeds of up to 54Mbps in existing 2.4GHz frequency range are launched this week by D-Link and Buffalo Technologies.
“Buffalo says it is first to market in the UK with 802.11g kit. Its first 802.11g products are the AirStation 54Mbps AP (a Wireless Broadband Router Access Point with a 4-port switch) and a Wireless CardBus adaptor. Both products will be available at the end of December 2002 exclusively through distie Computer 2000 at £104.99 for the Access Point and £44.99 for the adapter. In other words you have to get your dealer to order one for you.”…
