    Evohome Optimum Start

I am trying to figure out if Optimum Start will help me. I turned it on a couple of days ago but I don’’t see anything to show that it is doing anything to learn.

For instance, I have it set to turn on the heating at 4pm in the schedule …with Optimum Start, I was assuming that it would start figuring out how to get to the target temperature by 4pm.

All it seems to do is wait until 4pm and then turn on the heating. I have Optimum Stop and that seems to be turning off the heating a bit earlier than scheduled (like it is supposed to).

    Any help would be appreciated,

Check your Load Scaling setting too.

I had the same problem. I gave up on this years ago. It seemed to come on far too early, never seemed to “learn” the house. I found setting a radiator to coke on 10 minutes before a room was needed was more efficient. Of course it may depend on the structure of one’s house. Some take longer to warm up. Mine is a mid 1990s 4 bed detached.

I would give it 2 weeks to try and learn.

I waited a lot longer than that. It never learned. I disabled it.
