Video: Nest Developer Program Integrates IFTTT, Jawbone, LIFX, Mercedes & More

Last week Nest acquired Dropcam and this week their march to become a smart home platform to be reconed with continues.

[googlead]The Nest Developer Program has announced its first partnerships, using its API to integrate with IFTTT, Jawbone, LIFX, Mercedes, Whirlpool and others.

Matt Rogers, Founder and VP of Engineering at Nest covers some of the more than 5,000 developers that have already joined the program in the video below.

There are interface links to Whirlpool washer / driers, LIFX light bulbs and link your Jawbone UP24 wearable link to your Nest system too. The Logitech Harmony Ultimate universal remote can control your Nest thermostat and your lights and Google Now users can speak commands like “OK Google. Set Nest to 75 degrees”.  You can even have your Mercedes-Benz can inform Nest of your estimated time of arrival so your home is heated or cooled to your target temperature.
